Interfaith gathering during Sukkot at B'nai Israel
Interfaith
The Interfaith Group is a fun, diverse group of friends - individuals, couples, and families who share social, educational and life-cycle events in a way that is inclusive and accessible. Some of the fun things we do throughout the year include:
- Hosting a break-the-fast on Yom Kippur;
- Enjoying the annual Hanukkah party at a member's home;
- Hosting a mock Seder in preparation for Passover;
- Participating in social action events, from cleaning the American River Parkway to feeding the homeless, to helping at blood drives, and much much more...
- Bi-monthlydiscussions with Rabbi Alfi. Topics include how interfaith couples and families navigate marriage & childrearing; religious holidays throughout the year; learning to better understand Hebrew; understanding the cadence of prayer services; among many other insightful topics.
- Just hanging out with each other at the cafe on a Sunday morning . . . drinking mocha's, noshing on pastries, and schmoozing . . .
We will be assembling a schedule of events over the next few months and we will post these to the website as we complete the schedule. In the meantime, please feel free to contact Jennie and Matt Silver for more information, 916-649-1180. They can also be contacted via email at Interfaithcbi@yahoo.com.
