HELLO PARTY PEOPLE
Thanks to all who came out to the swanky L wine lounge in Midtown this summer for our happy hour. It was an awesome event! More than 40 of you were there – sipping pinots and rosés, connecting with old friends and meeting new people. Photos from the party are here.
INK US IN
Missed the happy hour in July? No worries. We've got more events coming up.
OktoberFest. Jews for Brews. We don't care what you call it as long as you come drink a pint with us at our Fall happy hour. It's going down Thursday Oct. 18 at 6:30 pm at Brew It Up, 14th and H streets in downtown Sac. Please RSVP when you get your Evite.
Shabbat dinner. We're not doing these every month any more so if you want to break bread with us in 2007, this is your chance: Friday Nov. 9. You’ll get all the details in an Evite.
LOOKING FOR MORE?
Our friends at Moishe House also plan regular events for young Jewish adults in the Sacramento area. Like hikes? Want to learn Israeli dancing? Care to join a softball team? Then contact Jen at moishehouse.sacramento@gmail.com to get on the
Moishe House list.
GOODBYE 5767. HELLO 5768.
B’nai Israel has tons going on in September and October in celebration of the Jewish New Year. There’s a lot more to it than just repenting for your sins. We’re talking forums on environmental policy, potluck meals inside a sukkah, planning social action projects for the future. If you’re looking for a place to observe the High Holidays, check out the calendar of events here.
You don’t have to be a member to come to holiday services at B’nai Israel, but members get to come for free. The temple has drastically reduced membership rates for people under age 34.
IT'S ALL ABOUT YOU
Whether you care about joining a temple or not, all of you have expressed interest in connecting with other Jewish people in the under-40 age range. Now we need you (and you, and you) to make this effort thrive. Spread the word. Invite your friends. Show Sababah some love.
You can create a cool Jewish community just by being a part of it. |
